WHY JOIN ONE OF OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKSHOPS?
Travelling to remote locations to take photographs is easy. All you need is the inclination, time and airfare. Travelling to those same areas and bringing back unique and emotive photographs of stunning scenery and wildlife under perfect light conditions requires a little more work. And that’s where we come in. We have extensive photographic experience in the locations we visit, and we work with the most experienced local guides who have intimate knowledge of the area, wildlife, weather and light to ensure we place you at the best sites at the right time - when the light is magical. We arrange and provide access to areas well off the tourist path with all transportation taken care of. We organize all accommodation and food so you can focus on your photography. Our emphasis is on ensuring you make wonderful photographs in the best locations, so we take care of the necessities whilst you experience the very best the country and location has to offer.
WHAT ARE YOUR WORKSHOPS LIKE?
Our workshops are, first and foremost, about Photography. There are no formal classroom sessions or lectures and no formal instruction. Instead, participants and the group leader and guide work side by side, sharing their knowledge, vision, philosophy and experience together in the field. We want you to make great photographs; therefore, the emphasis is on being out in the field when the light is best. We are always on hand for any advice or instruction you may need, and we work together as a team. Our focus is always on leading you to the best areas with the most excellent light and wildlife. We work hard at our photography, but we also have a lot of fun in the process.
AM I TOO OLD OR TOO YOUNG?
No. Age is generally not a factor in determining whether one of our workshops suits you. If you enjoy photography and being in beautiful places then you are the right age. If you have any specific concerns, you are welcome to contact us to discuss them.
DO I HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE?
Yes. Our workshops and expeditions cater to all levels of experience, from beginner to seasoned professionals.
WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION DO YOU PROVIDE?
When travelling by ship, we use ice-hardened expedition-class ships that are safe and comfortable. When on land, we stay in good, functional, and clean hotels and guest houses. Unless specified in the individual workshop, there is no camping.
WHAT ABOUT MEALS?
Unless otherwise specified in the individual workshop, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included in the price of the trip and will generally be taken at the hotels where we are staying or onboard the expedition ship if we are at sea. However, our workshops are all about photography, and we put in long hours in the field to ensure we maximize our opportunities for great light. We may take food and drinks with us into the field to ensure we are in the best locations when the 'magic' happens.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
Yes. Please just advise us of any special requirements at the time of booking, and we will take care of the rest.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
Participants must be honest about their fitness level and choose the appropriate level that aligns with their physical capabilities and preferences. This helps ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during our photography workshops, allowing participants to focus on their photography while still enjoying the outdoor environment. Please click HERE for a detailed description of our fitness level requirements.
WHAT IF THE DATES DON'T WORK FOR ME?
If you need different dates or you want a private workshop, I can also assist you. Not all expeditions fit everyone’s timeline or specific needs. In cases such as this, we can arrange a private trip for you with the same local guides, transport and amenities. I will provide you with your personal itinerary so that you can schedule your trip accordingly.
DO YOU PROVIDE PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION?
Yes. All participants receive a pre-departure kit for each workshop and expedition that is tailored to the specific trip they are undertaking. It includes recommended clothing and packing lists, information about getting there, local currencies, where to stay before and after the workshop along with other details pertaining to the trip. Participants also receive a 'keyword list' of many of the locations we will be visiting to assist with managing digital files.
WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
We partner with and recommend Global Rescue who are world leaders in evacuation, travel, medical and curtailment insurance. Contact Global Rescue for a no-obligation quotation.
