Antarctica

In December 2023 I am leading a return expedition to Antarctica to photograph the wildlife and landscape of this incredible white continent. This expedition is totally dedicated to photography and has been designed to provide the very best possible photographic opportunities. Early December is the ideal time to photograph in Antarctica. There will be proper sunrise and sunset and plenty of snow at the penguin rookeries. The expedition is for a strictly limited number of just 52 participants plus leader and is dedicated to Antarctic Photography. Our intention is to sail south across the Drake Passage from the port of Ushuaia and then spend a full ten days photographing in Antarctica. We will be using the ice hardened expedition ship Polar Pioneer which will enable us to push deep into Antarctic waters and venture into areas such as the Lemaire Channel. Polar Pioneer is widely regarded as the best ship in Antarctic waters for Photography. Our expedition ship is also equipped with sufficient zodiacs and crew for all photographers to be shooting simultaneously with plenty of room to spare for camera equipment - So bring what you need! To get an idea of the sort of wildlife photographs you can take on this expedition please visit the Antarctica portfolio on this website. If you are excited by the idea of photographing the dramatic landscape and wildlife of Antarctica with a small group of dedicated photographers now is the time to register your place by using the Register Online link at the bottom of this page. Places are very limited and once they are spoken for thats it. If you have not travelled to Antarctica before, please be sure to read our guide on how to choose the best expedition. There are many unknown considerations for the first time traveller who wants the best possible photographic experience in Antarctica. Click HERE to download the Guide.
